Great but major flaw- no crema! I think it's great for people who make lattes or cappuccinos but not for an espresso. The pros- water level easy to see. Quick heating period. Filter for coffee easy to dump out- no goop. Frothing device excellent and easy to clean. Compact size. Stops when shot is delivered. The cons- barely any crema- see photo comparison with the crema from our 9 year old Breville (similar price- not top of the line either) After several disappointing espresso shots from this Delonghi we decided to do a side by side comparison of results with our old machine. There's just no comparison between the two. What's more, the crema from our old espresso machine lasted for a very long time while the thin layer of the Delonghi "so-called crema" dissipated quickly. See the images below to see for yourself. The espresso shots were drawn almost simultaneously and the same water and coffee was used for both. The Delonghi, despite its good points was returned due to this major failure.
