Blocks your cell and wifi signal
The case is nice quality and fits well except for one major design flaw-- the aluminum bumper severely degrades cell and wifi signals. When I first got the iPhone 7 on its first day of release, I noticed my cell service was oddly dropping out of 4G into lower grades of service in locations where I had never had anything less than full 4G service (Verizon LTE). I also had trouble picking up wifi signals in places that I had no trouble picking it up. So I did a little experiment and tried removing just the outer aluminum bumper and signal suddenly improved. Put the bumper back on and the signal drops. The degradation is severe enough that it seems to be taking out the equivalent of about two bars worth of signal which is the difference between sitting in a restaurant and enjoying 4G, or dropping to 3G or below and barely being able to get your apps to work and your iMessages to send. The problem appears to be with the subtle design change from the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7. Apple moved the antenna closer to the edge to remove the unsightly strip that you see about 1/2 inch from the top and bottom of the back of the iPhone 6s. The new antenna strip is along the edges which you can see for yourself if you lookup the tear-downs of the new iPhone 7. The case itself is good quality but unfortunately this is a major design problem that may be unsolvable unless another material is spliced into the single piece aluminum bumper ring. While you can remove the bumper ring and just use the inner plastic portion of the case, the fact remains the design as intended induces significant wireless signal degradation.
