did this really cost half a B?
going to start this with saying that i made it about halfway through the second episode and was unable to continue. The reason for this being that i found the story boring, oddly paced, and i couldn't tell what age demographic this show is for. as far as "boring goes" i found the characters distant and uninteresting. we are not given any real reason to care about them or why they are important beyond "they just are". the pacing was off in several parts, the intro history was too long, too many characters were introduced and glanced over, and this especially, the scenes were very disjointed from one another and not in an intriguing "where is this going" way. lastly the story was oddly childish and inane at times, and then, over the top violent at others. i think the director and or writer was going for charming juxtaposition but it gave the feel of a cheaply produced YA story on the CW not a half billion dollar production from a streaming juggernaut. the only reason i gave this show 2 stars was that many of the visuals and SFX were stunning. the sound was great in many parts but there was some background audio that im positive was taken from an 80's thriller like alien. Did amazon really half a billion dollars to make this? that is my overall impression.
