MANUFACTURED? IF IT IS 100% COD LIVER OIL, WHY NOT SAY SO?
PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I AM IN ERROR. I have been puzzled/confused by the labeling of this Cod Liver Oil. This product says, "Bottled and lab tested in the USA; Manufactured in a FDA registered facility" It seems strange to use the term "Manufactured," in connection with a natural product. Stated on the label is, "Vitamin A (as Retinyl Palmitate)" According to wikipedia, "Retinyl palmitate is a synthetic alternate for retinyl acetate in vitamin A supplements, and is available in oily or dry forms" Is it possible that all sellers of cod liver oil add synthetic vitamins and perhaps change the EPA and DHA content of their products? IF SO, why don't they state it on the bottle. If it is 100% cod liver oil, why not say so? To generalize, it would seem that all cod liver oil would taste rather the same, but the taste of this product is entirely different from the brand I have been using. The taste is very mild. The other brand I have been taking, tasted like a fish market smells, which was what I expected. This, you may not even associate with a fish taste.... IDK, something seems fishy with the whole cod liver oil business...... I would truly like to know the facts.
