While in terms of writing and reading speeds, this SSD is on a par with similar brands (SanDisk, Crucial, etc.), one important difference is that it runs hot!!!! I bought both the 120GB (S55) and 512GB (A55) versions, one on a laptop and one used simply as a storage derive on a desktop. Both are at 40C when idle, and then can reach 60C+ with serious writing/reading going on. Other SSDs I have (one SanDisk, two Crucial's, one Corsair) are about 10C to 15C cooler under every scenario. I have no idea how long the two Silicon Power SSDs will last given that they run much hotter.
