This is like a real cloud, no kidding. Not what you want if you are looking to lie on something that is, and remains buoyant. More like a blanket that looks like it is a grouping of small pillows. The little pillows flatten instantly upon compression but pop back up when you rise. It gives you little more than a blankets thickness. What I wanted was inches (inch) separating me and the mattress when I lay upon it. Had I not waited over a month to open it I would have instantly returned it. I have not laundered this so I cannot comment beyond my initial experience. I use (sleep on) a comforter on top of it to make it comfortable. Go to a department store, touch and feel some, then buy one you really like. Forget what the advertising on online sites says. Those rave reviews are not to be believed. Overfilled my @#$%^ NOTE: The picture shows the border in a manner to make it appear thick. It is not. It is draped over the mattress edge in the picture to give the illusion of depth.
