If a thermometer doesn't show the actual temperature, it's a piece of bad wall art, not a thermometer. The title of this product listing should be "Wall Litter" or "Wacky Wall Gauge" This thing replaced a working thermometer that had fallen to its death in a recent Nor'easter. Over the past 20 years, we have had several working wall thermometers in the same location (one of which was an ancestor of this model), so I can say with a high degree of certainty that this device is spectacularly bad at the one job it was designed to do.
