NOT SAFE - Baby positioning Fail
Warning: THIS IS NOT A SAFE BABY CARRIER. I am a Certified Babywearing Educator. While the style is on point, the MOST critical aspect (pun intended) of this carrier is the actual sling your child sits in. It is apparent that the company failed to do their due diligence when it comes to safe babywearing positioning and HIP DYSPLASIA. This carrier is placing your child in a dangerous, and very uncomfortable position. Incorrect infant body positioning subjects your child to spinal damage. Baby is also carried too low in this carrier. DO NOT BUY. The company needs to get it right and then they'll have earned a good review.
Visit HipDysplasia . org and Babywearing International . org to equip yourself with this important safety knowledge: Baby needs to be seated with bent knees slightly higher than hips, with carrier coverage supporting them under the bum from under the back of one knee, all the way over to under the back of the other knee.
This carrier is rolling baby's hips forward, transferring weight load over their crotch. (This is why you hear the term "crotch dangler" in reference to poorly designed carriers.) Can you imagine sitting in this position for any length of time?
For alternatives: Get a black, FDE, digicam, etc. Kinderpack or Tula (or one of the many other legitimate baby carrier mfr's carriers) and get one of the many custom carrier babywearing mamas on Fbk and Etsy to molle it up for you. I am not plugging any other company, just warning well meaning parents that this is not a safe or acceptable carrier for your precious cargo. Thank you.
