Hello my RPG / D&D Friends, I recently ordered a few of the top sellers of D&D mats, to see of all the top sellers on Amazon which was the best option for me to keep vs return. $24.95 The Original Battle Grid Game Board - 27" x 23" - Dungeons and Dragons Mat - Dry Erase Square & Hex RPG Miniatures Map Grids - DnD 5th Edition Table Top Dice Set - Wizard of the Coast Starter & Master PROS: -Hard surface, due to type of material in 10secs you can have a board you can start playing on so there's very little prep time compared to some of the competitors who offer bigger surfaces but the matts have to wrap up. -2 sided, this is nice I appreciate 2 sided matts -Includes Markers + Eraser + WaterSprayer CONS: -The biggest con of this version is that it's a small surface area, this'll get pretty uncomfortable if you're playing with more than 2 people. -The listing claims it'll fit in a backpack, this is FALSE, it doesn't fit into a backpack, the item is a bit bulk to transport vs some of the competitors that come in carrying tubes. $29.95 Battle Grid Game Mat - 24" x 36" - Table Top Role Playing Map - DnD Role Play - RPG Dungeons and Dragons Maps Tiles - Reusable Miniature Figure Board Games - Tabletop Gaming Mats (Distressed Terrain) PROS: -Easy to carry in 1 hand -Large surface 24'' by 36'' this is one of the largest surfaces you can buy on the market -Includes Markers + Eraser + WaterSprayer CONS: -Expensive :( It was $29.99 so almost $10 more than the competitors -No carrying tube, I'm afraid it'll get dinged and damaged during transportation to friend's houses easily. -1 sided, vs the competitors are 2 sided -You do need to take time to un-coil the product and flatten it out, like 5mins of prep time to get it flattened out. The cons of this matt is that similar to all the large surface area D&D Mats you do need to spend time in un-coiling the product after you first take it out of the tube. I recommend un-coiling the product and flatten it out, like 5mins of prep time to get it flattened out.
