Waste of time and money!
I am beyond disappointed with this purchase. We have been thinking about getting a standard hot tub for a while and thought we’d try this first to make sure we’d use it. We loved it at first. It was decently easy to assemble and get started. Then the problems started. The day after the initial setup, so much air had escaped through a hole in a seam that wasn’t done up properly, that half the water had spilled out. We didn’t want to go through the process of returning such a large item, especially with the COVID-19 situation, so we decided to patch it using the included patch kit. That helped once we tried again after allowing it to set, but by the following day, enough air had still leaked out To cause some water to escape again, just not as much. At this point, my husband took the spray seal that seals EVERYTHING to every seam on the entire tub. That solved that issue and we were finally able to keep air and water in it long enough for it to heat up. The pump for the filter on one side stopped working entirely within days. We kept it clean, had enough bromine in it, and kept it covered when we weren’t in it. It’s just me and my husband, so there were no kids and we obviously didn’t allow our dogs in it, so there was no reason for that to happen. We purchased new filters, cleaning tools for the sides and bottom, a chemical test kit, and drained the water and replaced it with inside water thinking that perhaps the well water was causing the issue. We have a softener, and don’t have trouble in the house, including in the ice/water dispenser in the fridge. Around this time, it would stop working and throw various error messages. I don’t remember all of them but the majority were power related and happened just when we had the bubbles on. We had it plugged into an outdoor outlet. All the outdoor outlets are on a single breaker, which is more than sufficient, and nothing else was plugged into another outdoor outlet at the time. This was the ONLY thing. We would have to reset it, and sometimes unplug it and plug it back in. A couple days later, it started happening simply when the heater was running to keep it at temp. After ALL OF THAT, the final straw was our electric bill. The first full month of use increased our electric bill by over $120. Nothing else changed, we have propane for heat, and we hadn’t started to use the AC yet. It literally cost $120 to run this when the weather was above 50° regularly. I expected a hike, but that is more than the bill to run the entire rest of the house for a month. Unfortunately, now, because we tried so many things to make it work, we can no longer return it either. I am so beyond disappointed with this purchase. Don’t make the same mistake.
