Endlessly tried reformatting and troubleshooting this unresponsive drive on computer. Finally resorted to old fashioned mechanical reformatting. The drive responded exactly the same after mechanical reformatting. The WD junk drive passed away confused and unaware yet without much pain. In lieu of sending flowers please consider donating to other external drive companies who make a product that actually works.
