Avoid Jawbone's UP/UP24 bands - and if you must buy one, then buy an extended warranty if available
Bought the original Jawbone Up from a big box store. But, I got lucky. Before I bought it, I spoke with someone that had one. He pointed something out to me... After a few months of ownership, there are two kinds of Jawbone Up owners - those who hate their bands because the bands failed, and those who love their bands despite the fact that the bands break down - because they bought an extended warranty.
So, I bought my first band, and the extended warranty. And replaced the first one (and renewed my extended warranty), then the second one (and renewed my extended warranty), then the third one (and renewed my extended warranty), then the fourth one (and renewed my extended warranty)... Sometime around the fifth replacement, Jawbone came up with the Up24 and I decided to take my warranty and have them apply it to the new version (and renewed my extended warranty). Love the bluetooth connectivity of the Up24. And it worked fine for 3 months until it failed so I took advantage of the extended warranty and got a second one (and renewed my extended warranty)... And now that second UP24 has failed. So, back to the store for me where I will replace it with a third one (and renew my extended warranty).
At the end of the day, don't bother with the Jawbone Up or Up24 fitness bands. Their quality is so poor that you will simply be frustrated. But, if you insist on buying one, please get the extended warranty. Seriously.
