Make sure your controller is from Amazon.
My controller came from M&M gaming, There were some things I noticed immediately that raised my suspicion. 1. the seams on the controller were very sharp, the seams are sharp on all these controllers, but the seams stuck out a bit too much almost as if they were opened before and one of the buttons were gunky, so I sent it back.I'm not sure why they were like that, not saying there was foul play -even though this happened to me before. I'll be sure I order things like cables, controllers, memory cards directly from Amazon or go to a local store in the future
