I rarely write reviews, but I’m blown away by the irresponsibility of this company. I recently received this steamer and it did not work, despite the fact that the unit was getting warm. I reviewed the company’s website and the troubleshooting guide, each of which identified potential causes that were not present with my unit. Customer service is open only for very limited hours, so I was unable to reach them initially. I let the unit run for a few hours, thinking perhaps it takes very long for the unit to heat up. Still nothing worked. When I was finally able to get through to customer service, I was appalled to hear that from the company representative that units were shipped out with a known defect regarding the cap of the water tank. In other words, the unit heats, but no water leaves the tank. Their proposed “solution” was to mail me a new cap (and who knows when that will arrive). To begin with, this is not a sufficient solution given that, as the company prominently warns, when the unit is run without water, there is damage caused to the heating element. More importantly, this functional issue strikes me as a major fire hazard. I find it beyond belief that the company hasn’t attempted to recall units that it admitted knowing were defective, or even publicize the issue on its website. Instead, they are simply waiting for customers to call them. This is an unacceptable situation and I’d warn other potential purchasers to be very careful, lest someone is seriously hurt.
