Does Not Deserve to Have the Zippo name - Its that bad!!
This is possibly the worst lighter I have ever touched and I have been around for 53 years.
From an engineering point of view, this Zippo Candle Lighter misses on EVERY key point:
It is not easy to operate:
To light, you have to operate two buttons which were placed in awkward positions on opposite sides of the lighter. One button you push in and one you slide forward, at the same time, and the slide requires way too much force to move, and just to add insult to injury, they made it slippery. Any disposable lighter is much easier to light than this "Zippo", and yet all they do are lighters - you would think they would get it right.
It is not reliable:
On average, it takes me 3 to 5 tries before I get any flame, and it would be worse if I had not adjusted the flame size to the optimum setting, a process which has to be redone each time you refill the butane. The lighter does work much better if you use it repeatedly for a few minutes and it gets warm, but basically this is a lighter that is tough to light.
* I did not just get a lemon, I bought two of these lighters at the same time, and both acted identically.
* As per their Zippo's instructions, I only use Zippo brand butane.
A bic disposable lasts 10 times as long as a full tank of gas in this "lighter".
Lastly, you can not read the level of gas left in the tank - I used a flashlight and a magnifying glass and still couldn't see the level.
