Don't Just Read the 5 Star Reviews
If this book was written as a romance, then it might possibly deserve 3 - 4 stars. But a 5 star ZA novel? Nope. The women act like 14 year old girls -- not women. They are whiney, emotionally insecure, selfish, and unable to perform the simplest of tasks without coaching -- except magically becoming an expert shot after holding -- not firing, holding -- a gun once. The story is very descriptive, however. I learned that spaghetti noodles were drained with a strainer. And lovely details about what the protagonist did when she went into the bathroom. There are too many examples of these mind numbing details to even begin to list them. I reached the point where I was thinking about going back through the book and highlighting all the text that didn't advance the story, provide useful backstory, or a meaningful description of an event more complex than turning a door knob. I suspect that doing so would turn this book into a novella. I usually read the reviews before I buy a book. Really wish I had before buying this one.
