I want to start out by telling everyone that I have not used this product so I don't know anything about it from experience. however I am a biologist with lab experience with Virology and microbiology. it could very well be that the filter is 0.05 microns, I'm not disputing this. but most viruses are tiny, around 0.04 microns. so the filter will not work against them. I personally have a pet peeve against companies that lie in their ads, so I would not trust anything else they say. I don't think there is a filtration system that can filter out viruses, but this one certainly cannot. Important - in an earlier edit I mentioned that viruses are typically 0.004 microns in size. I accidentally added a zero. Polio, one of the smallest viruses is 0.028 microns - approximately half the size of what the filter claims to stop. even with the updated edit, 0.05 microns is too big to guarantee an effective filter against viruses.
