As far as the rice cooker itself, it works just fine, hence my giving it 5 stars each for Easy to clean, Timer function and Easy to use. However, after reading through the owner's manual, I found out that there's a lithium battery that powers the digital clock and cooking timer. The bad news is that on page 23 of the owner's manual (attached to this review), it states the following; "Please contact Zojirushi Customer Service to have the Lithium Battery replaced (with additional charge). In other words, when the lithium battery expires, the entire unit has to be sent (at your expense, mind you) to a factory authorized repair facility just to have the battery replaced (I confirmed this via email with customer service). With my living in Maine, the nearest repair facility is in Oceanside, New York. It doesn't seem right that after shoveling out just under $160.00 for a rice cooker, it has to be sent away at my expense just to have the battery replaced. Had I known this prior to purchasing, I would have kept shopping for a different one, but this issue wasn't noted in any of the product advertisements.
