Buy a different brand if you expect quality and good warranty support.
I purchased the E70-C3 on 6/23/15 and it worked great until 12/10/15, when I powered it on and it had a green vertical line across the entire left side of the TV (known as a line defect; see the attached picture). I contacted Vizio support since it was under warranty and they had me upload my Amazon receipt and pictures of the defect, and instructed me to call back in 24 hours. When I called back, the customer service rep advised me that Vizio would send out a replacement TV, but that the replacement would be a "re-certified" unit, not a brand new unit. When I told her that I did not want a refurbished replacement she said that the unit was not refurbished, it was "re-certified", the difference being that "re-certified" units are tested much more thoroughly than refurbished units. She then instructed me to power the replacement unit on before the delivery person leaves and verify there are no defects in it. If I find any defects, then I must refuse delivery. If I do not, then my warranty will be voided. She was very adamant that I refuse delivery if there are any problems.
This is absolutely unacceptable! If I spend $1400 on something, I expect it to last. The fact that this TV has a defect after less than 6 months and my Samsung DLP from 2010 is still working fine, shows you what kind of product Vizio makes. Also, the customer service rep's insistence that I refuse delivery of the replacement tells me they regularly have issues with their "re-certified" units. Why am I even getting a "re-certified" unit when this TV is still sold in stores? Due to all of the above, I cannot recommend this TV or any product manufactured by Vizio. Spend a couple hundred dollars more and get yourself a quality TV from a manufacturer that actually cares about customer service.
