We purchased two of these for an international flight. One for our 13 lb Cat and the other for our 5 lb Chihuahua. They appeared sturdy and functional until midway through the flight when our cat suddenly burst from the top of the bag and ran down the isle of the airplane. Needless to say there was some commotion and pandemonium about the breakout. The zippers are the weak point. They are cheaply made, light and thin. After inspecting the bag, we learned that the zippers can easily be separated (without using the pull tab) by exerting pressure on them. Our cat simply stood on is leg, stretched and arched his back. There was enough force exerted that the cheaply made zippers separated and he escaped. ANY zipper that gives access to a carrier of this type should be a YKK or similar design. I've used and provided feedback for lots of military field gear and those are the kinds of zippers that should be used. Having a pet get loose on a flight can be catastrophic and the poor design of these bags makes it a reality.
