Conceptually these are a great product. In reality the design is quite poor. First, a dogs toes and toenails protrude farther than the pads of a dog's feet, so this design causes the dog's pads not to sit properly in the shoe. The shoe needs to be much longer so that the dog's pads sit in the correct position in the shoe. Yes, my dog's toenails are trimmed properly. Second, the shoes are 'flat', meaning that they do not angle upward at 90 degrees the way a dogs legs are angled during standing and walking. Why would someone design a flat shoe for a dog? Their legs and feet are simply not shaped this way. Third, because the dog's feet do not sit properly inside the shoe on the pads, the shoes simply slide off, and the velcro cannot be tightened down tight enough because my dog has dew claws which brings me to the final point. Finally, the shoes are not long enough. The tension area sits exactly at my dogs dew claw area which is a recipe for disaster. As much walking as I do I know this would irritate him horribly after a time. Overall I liked the idea but the execution of the concept is quite poor, at least for my dog.
