I was so excited to get this kit. I’m a licensed cosmetologist who specializes in hair and hair color and wanted to save money doing my nails myself, but it’s been years since I practiced nails in cosmetology school so I thought this would be a good place to start. However, I immediately noticed that the powders contain MMA and the monomer liquid contains PMMA. In the US, MMA is illegal as it can cause permanent damage to your nails, including loss of nail and numbness in fingers. I would not know this if I hadn’t gone to school, and this is insanely dangerous in the hands of customers who had the same goal I had. It feels insidious that this is marketed as MMA, as this is a bold faced lie. Please please please do not use this powder or liquid. PMMA is approved by the FDA in medical settings and in some cosmetics, but with contention as it contains heavy metals and it is never in Monomer liquid in the US. I’m very concerned for anyone who has used these materials with blind trust from other reviews. Please do your research, make a choice for your health, and save yourself from irreparable damage.
