Yes, it is double sided. No, it does not appear to be "100% Boar hair", it has plastic bristles instead. The "soft" side appears to be all natural bristles. The "stiff" side is primarily black plastic bristles with some whispy tan bristles thrown in to make it look natural. I've included pictures of both sides here. The plastic bristles are quite hard and sharp. Maybe that's what you're looking for, but I wanted something more like a hair brush, not like a wire brush to take the rust off my old car! I think I'll put this in the tool box in my garage...
