Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I honestly cannot believe all the positive reviews here! I’ve read 2 others by Kubica, both several years ago. The Good Girl, which I liked, and Pretty Baby which I remember as being very odd, but not terrible. But this was just howlingly bad! From the completely see-through “thriller” plot, to the cardboard cutout characters, extremely stilted dialogue, and just generally hackneyed language throughout. I particularly disliked the “Mouse” chapters, and started skipping those altogether. You get the point quickly enough, without slogging through all the details. Finally, so much of the denouement requires suspension of disbelief, it just became laughable.
