Researched basement dehumidifiers and bought an Alorair Sentinel HD 55. It arrived and was installed. Less than a year later it just freezes up even with a perfectly clean filter, it's not going into defrost cycle. I contacted Alorair via email and they said I'd need to ship it to LA for repair and pay for the shipping myself. What good is a 5-year warranty if I have to pay over $250 for shipping costs? I'm buying a different dehumidifier and hoping for better results. This is a warning, look elsewhere if you don't want to waste $900. *Follow-up Alorair came through. They shipped a new dehumidifier as a replacement. It's been installed and working well. Thank you for helping resolve this issue. *Follow-up 1 year later Unit has failed again. Just freezes, does not defrost coils. Has clean filter but continues to freeze and not defrost. I've give up and will now purchase a different unit.
