This is an excellent saw, but I was forced to return it, and its replacement, for virtually the same problem. After a few days of use, the blade raising and lower mechanism starting grinding and binding, became difficult to turn, not smooth, sudden drops, etc and increasing got worst with each use. Assuming this was a fluke, returned it for a replacement.The replacement worked fine for a couple of days, and then started developing the identical problem. Really disappointed at this turn of events as I really liked the saw, but forced to return again. Reassessing DeWalt quality control ... The odds of 2 saws having the same problem are pretty low, unless there is a QC problem causing the misalignment to develop so quickly. Amazon return policy and procedures have been Great ... Not sure which saw to get at this point ...
