lol this isn't matcha
Let me preface this with making sure I share this snobby piece of information with you: I have spent a fair amount of time in Japan and know what I should be expecting from a decent matcha's quality and consistency.
At first I thought some of the 1-star reviews were just buffoons who had no idea what to expect, thinking it would just taste like green tea. This was especially after I read the review where someone was complaining because the matcha was too bitter after they had added their stevia (shoot me now). However, I now understand where the low scores come from.
At best, this is the cheapest green tea leaves shoved into a grinder and the growing process for the leaves was done incorrectly.
In the worst case scenario, there are a bunch of fillers in this powder that we don't know about. The murky color and almost dirty taste indicates that either the stems are not being removed or that there is some filler (it really tastes like wheat-grass is in there).
Will I buy again?
Yeah probably because I'm a POS cheap college student who doesn't care too much as long as I'm not being poisoned.
Should you buy if you are a self-respecting adult?
No.
