I was very excited about the BOND and have been watching developement for some time. I ordered as soon as it became available. I have my home set up with over 50 internet-connected devices working through Hue, Nest, Smartthings, IFTTT, Harmony Remote, Alexa, and Google Assistant. I am no stranger to getting these things working. While I really believe the BOND is a great piece of hardware, the software and back-end are half-baked at best. I was able to make several of my fans "do something." Meaning I could get one function or another to work intermittently. I could never achieve anything close to what I would consider full control over any one of them. Light but no dimming, high speed and off but no low speed, etc. There is no way to input any information about the remote you're trying to mimic with a part number, model, or brand; you instead have to press a button on your current remote and allow BOND to (poorly) guess the remote. The software doesn't even indicate what their guess is or provide a list from which you could choose. I would advise the BOND folks to look to Logitech's Harmony Remote if they want to know how to make the setup process smooth and accessible to those less techy people who are only now getting into home automation (or better yet, license this great hardware to them.) So for now, I'm sending my BOND back. I will still keep an eye on them and reconsider once they get the software and back-end to the point where I won't lose a week of my time trying to get things only sort of working.
