Misleading...and disappointing
I don't usually write reviews, but I do read them. I read them to get a feel for a book. Are the characters well thought out, does the book flow well, and ultimately was it interesting?
So we bought this book for 2 reasons;
1. Jack Reacher is in the title and I love the Lee Child books!!
2. It was free! Nothing to lose except time, and I did lose that time.
I really want to be as objective as possible, but that is going to be difficult. I will TRY not to ruin anything for folks that want to read these books. I was disappointed in the two main characters. For FBI agents they seem to jump to conclusions without facts to back them up, and they just seem to make stuff up in their head. They don't come across as good agents.
The Reacher characters she brings in have little, if any, relation to the characters that Lee Child developed.
The flow of this book is a little wanky, but that could be the fault of the editor. It seems to throw things at you in the end that make you ask, "WHAT??"
Oh and this might be a *spoiler alert*, but he isn't in the book. Even if he was these two feebs wouldn't stand a chance of "capturing" him, which they seem to think they have been entrusted to do so, because he's smarter, and way more dangerous.
It leaves a bad taste in my mouth that Mr. Child agreed to have this author use characters from his novels and use them in ways that don't stay honest to what we already know about them.
It was free... but I can't get the time back. Tread carefully...
