In case you buy a defective unit check this out...
I liked them for the 3 weeks I purchased them and they actually worked. Useful for spotting boats and birds in the ocean at distance. Stabilized pretty well as the boat rolled. Then the red light started constantly flashing. Replaced batteries, no good. Not able to manually focus it anymore even with stabilization turned off. Flashing red light indicated “Problem condition: do not use, return TECHNO-STABI to Fujinon. I was very careful handling these binoculars given the fact they’re $1000 now $1299. Was unable to speak to an actual person at Fuji on the phone. I sent them an email and they advised me to pack it up and ship it to New Jersey to examine for damage and then they’ll repair it if they consider it covered under warranty. Must include a $20 check to pay for return shipping, too. I really liked the binoculars and just want them replaced so I tried using the replacement option provided by Amazon but after completing the replacement form they advised me they will not replace it. Luckily Amazon will allow me to return it though. Hopefully this is useful for anyone wondering what will happen if you buy a defective unit.
