UPDATE: Another update. I’ve been sent another 5 emails over time from various throwaway email addresses offering me more and more to remove my review up to $40 now. Since leaving the previous review, I've been emailed twice by the seller claiming to be Amazon Customer Service and asking me to REMOVE my review in return for an additional $15 and then $25 refund on top of my return. Do NOT believe the reviews for this product. They are without question tampering with their reviews and the 4.X rating average should NOT be believed. You don't need to return the item. <<<End Seller Email>>> PREVIOUS REVIEW: Nice design, poor quality internals. Unreliable and breaks easily. When I got the mount, I unlocked it using the red switch and attempted to pull it open. When I tried to open it, the arms were stuck, and it took some muscle to get it to open. I fitted the mount to my phone and installed the pad as instructed. It seemed to work fine after that, so I went and installed it on my bike. Everything was good until I tried to pull it open and insert my phone again. This time, the lower right arm pulled out without the others and now it won't move in sync with the other arms. See the pic for what this looks like. The screws on the back that secure the unit are not even inserted straight. I removed the four screws to take a look at the internals. You can see this in my photo as well. There's a simple spring attached to a plastic gear. I could re-sync the arm with the others, but I would no longer trust this mount. The cheap aluminum arms can easily slip, the plastic gears could break easily. I'm sure none of the internals would survive any reasonable time in the sun or the elements. This same design with some better (proper metal) internals would likely be a good product, but I can't recommend this product as-is. Considering how poorly made this is, I have concerns about the accuracy of the reviews for this product. I would be afraid to secure an expensive phone to my bike with a mount that is so cheap and unreliable.
