A Paper Induced Moral Quandary (Or, the strongest opinion anyone has held about this product ever)
In my vein attempts to be mindful about my spending, I put down the $20 moleskin at the self checkout line in Target and opted for this $8 number. Once more I am painfully reminded that living cheap is a gateway to being frugally (and there is a huge difference). This paper is so absurdly flimsy. The paper is noticeably indented from pencil, pen bleeds through to the next page, and all of my (already) incoherent writing just looks ten times more messy as the scribbles from previous pages crosshatch with current ones. This simply serves as motivation to write more every day, so I can go through this garbage journal as quickly as possible and invest in a better one. I could do that now but I am both broke and avidly against being wasteful just because I can. Two stars because it's a funny predicament to be in that i'll hopefully laugh about later when I'm less poor, and gives the journal a little character. No more than two stars because cheap goods made by big corporations that idiots like me keep buying are ruining the livelihoods of smaller, locally sourced artisans and also wasting precious resources that I now feel compelled to use or else IM the bad guy (and not the people creating a treacherous carbon footprint). I don't know why I didn't save all of this for my journal.
