I initially used this detergent with the same scent softener. It initially smelled good coming out of the dryer but after 1 day in the closet it took on a very sour, tangy smell. Other clothing in the closet not washed with this detergent do not have that sour smell so it’s not my closet. So since I wash in an HE washer I felt maybe I put too much detergent. I rewashed all the clothes again without softener and less detergent. Again, the same thing happened. It smelled good initially but then takes on a sour smell. I even immediately took the wash out of the dryer and made sure the wash was completely dry. I have used the basil scent and lavender scent without this happening. And the strange thing is that it only happens with certain clothes. Like towels, jeans, yoga pants and sheets, it doesn’t convert to a sour smell. But t-shirts and sweatshirts it turns sour. I am so disappointed cause now I’m throwing the detergent away.
