I bought this tea kettle one month ago because of all the great reviews posted here. My husband has tea every evening. So, we regularly use the tea pot. We were first disappointed because the handle does get quite hot when the water boils, contrary to what some reviewers have said. But, that was not a deal breaker. In the one month we've owned this thing, the cover on the spout has started to discolor and change shape, I assume it's melting from the heat. I doubt the temperature for boiling water is different in my part of the midwest than elsewhere. This tea kettle is just cheap junk. Very upset. I just ordered a high quality stainless steel and enamel tea pot and will throw this one in the trash. Don't buy this tea kettle. Update in late 2021 - the business selling this teakettle has been sending me emails for the past two weeks offering me money to take down this review. They’ve sent the same email at least a half dozen times. I RARELY review products. But this one was so bad that I felt compelled. I returned it for a full refund at the time and purchased a higher quality product, which has served us well since. And bothering me on through email isn’t going to change my view. Perhaps my purchase was a defective one. But I wouldn’t take a chance on it.
