and then there were none of these movie remakes
I realize everyone has his own opinion, his point of view. some people like this movie. but not me. I bought this dvd thinking, "how could they ruin this great agatha christie classic?" and with a lot of hard work and expensive sets, they did. this film is awful. think of agatha christie meets sigourney weaver's 1986 "aliens." imagine a remake of the 1939 classic, "the wizard of oz," where the cowardly lion is puking blood and dorothy has sex with munchkins. yes, it's that bad. my objection is, that this is NOT agatha christie. agatha christie has class. she has charm, her characters have distinctive personalities, and there is wit and humor in the writing. the solving of the crime puzzle is an exercise that's fun. in this film, the characters are so repulsive you wouldn't sit near them on a bus. go ahead and make this film, but don't call it "and then there were none." don't try to validate this pointless effort, full of gratuitous blood and violence and offensive scenes by associating it with agatha christie. it's a classless film, indicitave of what so many movies today have become. cheap, gross violence is thrown in to replace meaningful characterization and plot development. this is a stony, heartless movie, devoid of anything and everything agatha christie is loved for.
