Let's throw in a couple of anthropologists for intellectual depth and set it in Sweden for an "exotic" touch that won't offend anyone and still manage to be PC while profoundly misunderstanding absolutely everything about that culture with a literal "carte blanche." Wait! You also get distorted, wobbly, and upsidedown shots, in case you don't get how confused or drugged the characters are. An exemplary bad film. Perfect.
