I purchased this drying rack just over 2 years ago and it has slowly become more and more broken and now I am shopping for a new drying rack, trying to decide if it’s easier to just replace it with another cheap one and repeat the cycle or buy a pricier one (of course, I could have bought the pricier one the first time for what I’ll pay anyway now). What’s happened is the bars of the rack pop off one by one. You have to then line them up while holding up/together the rest of the rack since it will not stand upright until it’s put back together while you put them back in, and since they are held in by tension it usually takes several tries and often multiple additional bars pop off. Each time you line up one bar to fix it back into place more pop out. To avoid this rack is now held together almost entirely by duct tape and so it cannot be collapsed to be put away. It stopped working properly after about a year and has had to be duct taped together for ages now— and I don’t really have the space to keep it out all the time, it wasn’t attractive to start with and is super ugly now that it’s taped together... and I’d like a folding laundry rack that will actually fold up without breaking into pieces. My suggestion is to spend a bit more since you will have to replace this brand every few years at the most. At first I was trying to figure if I had gotten $20-whatever dollars worth of use out of it before it broke, but it’s still really frustrating and a poor business practice to sell stuff that’s so cheaply made it’s just disposable and lasts such a short amount of time. I wasn’t expecting to get a lifetime’s worth of use out of such an inexpensive product— but it should have lasted longer than a few months before falling apart.
