Buyer Beware!
We purchased this refrigerator thinking that it would preform as well as the 3 GE refrigerators we had in the past. Boy, were we wrong. The unit is 1 1/2 years ago, installed when we built our new home. Since then we have had issue after issue. First, it was the water was dripping from the water dispenser, at first the tech blamed our plumbing. Still dripping a month later, we called the tech back, this time he found a service bulletin for the source of the problem, ( I guess that we weren't the only buyers with the same problem). So he replaced the filler tube with a longer tube. Problem fixed. Next, we called again about a loud clicking noise, the tech comes back and replaces a fan motor for the meat/ cheese drawer, not just a motor but a large piece of foam was part of the assembly. The list goes on, with other minor issues. The last time the tech told us that this model was the new revised model, that is why there are so many issues. So we called GE to complain about the poor workmanship and asked to have the refrigerator replaced, they offered to replace it with a discount that would have cost us more than we paid for the first time, so we asked for an extension of the warranty. They gave us an extra 1 year warranty. Now, we are hearing a motor running way too fast, it sounds like a motor being over worked. We just called again and are still awaiting for the tech to come back. We are very sorry for buying this overpriced piece of junk. So much for Brand Loyalty! I almost forgot, if you think the hot water feature is instant as I was led to believe, it is not. It takes up to 5 minutes to get the water warm enough for coffee. A Quick Drip coffee maker is much faster, and much cheaper!
We are hoping that someone at GE can read this review, and help us get the bad taste out of our mouths.
