We take waffles seriously in our family. My MIL has perfected a batter and you have to get married to find out the recipe. We bought this to replace a Kitchenaid double belgian waffle maker that got wet and stopped working. What a disappointment. This feels so plastic and cheaply made. Used it for the first time today and I don't expect it to last long. The waffle iron itself is smaller in diameter and depth than the kitchenaid, the batter was constantly spilling out the sides. The waffles to not come out crispy. We tried spray oil, butter and extended cooking times, but the waffles were either floppy or burned. There is no timer - seriously?? I decided to give it two stars instead of one because I realize that we are extra picky aout waffle makers but this oe was just flat out disappointing. The sad thing is I researched and researched and this was the best option I could fine. I realize that small applianes are meant to be disposable these days, but they should at least work well while they work. This one does not.
