I was excited to get this mattress shipped so quickly. When it came the box had a strong and distinct mildew odor, but the mattress itself was sealed tightly in plastic from the factory, so I assumed the smell was from the cardboard itself. My mistake. The mattress itself smells awful. I've had memory foam mattresses before, so I'm familiar with the normal chemical odor of a new mattress, but this is different. This is the distinct smell of mildew. The mattress itself was clean, dry, and has no visual evidence of mold or mildew. I've let the mattress air out for 5 days now and it still smells. Last night I sprayed all surfaces of the mattress with an entire bottle of extra strength Febreze, and it still smells. If you can get past the smell, the mattress itself is comfortable. Mine rapidly expanded to a full 11-12 inches, even in the corners. Part of me is hoping that the smell will still fade over time, but I doubt that will happen. I've thrown out the packaging, and this thing is huge and heavy, so I'm not sure I could figure out how to send it back. So my recommendation is not to buy this thing. Also, since I know this has come up in other reviews about the smell, my mattress was manufactured in 10/2017.
