Gives wolves a bad name
First of all, wolf attacks are exceedingly rare. Showing wolves attacking every human in sight like this gives them a bad reputation. This is the kind of thing that leads people to fear and want to kill wildlife on sight. Human beings are not on the wolf menu!
I thought this might have been an interesting film, but it turned out to be the same old story. In fact, the fight sequence along the cliffs looks exactly like the one in The Hunted, but with different actors. The storyline was very basic and the bad guys were really outlandish. Not very believable bad guys. The female lead was great in her role, but she was not given many good lines.
The bad guys were really dumb and their reasons for being with Richard Dreyfuss' character, called just "Father" in the film, were never fully explained. There were too many plot holes to count. So many things never explained.
If you like action movies with lots of shooting and chases in snow and people falling off cliffs, then this one's for you. I thought the scenery in the trailer was good and expected it was going to be a better suspense film, but I was disappointed. It was all shooting and wolves killing people and very little plot. I wasted $6.99 on this rental. The only redeeming thing is that the wolves are cool to see, even though they were shown with fake growling soundtracks played over them to make them appear aggressive. The body language of those wolves was not aggressive at all, and you can see their eyes looking toward their trainers in several scenes.
