Don't. Ever.
I read this book all the way through, sadly minus 10 dollars in my pocket. If you thought Stones to Abbigale was bad, brother you ain't seen nothin' yet. Nothing in this book was cohesive. It was nothing more than a stream of consciousness splattered onto some pages then sold as some sort of "voice for the voiceless" manifesto. The characters just seemed to adhere themselves together, with no real connections to one another. I know that sometimes people fall for someone for reasons they can't put into words, but not only can Greg not find the words, he just doesn't have them. All the characters were cold, flat, and uninteresting. There was zero reason to stay invested into any one character's story, because there weren't any. It was just a peek inside the mind of a very disturbed individual. At least with something bad like 50 Shades of Gray, it's open for parody. This was just rife with horror. Most of the time, authors want to tell a good story that gives the reader an insight into what it's like to wear their filters. This was, "My way is the right way and if you don't conform to how I think, I hate you."
Don't forget, guys, he's a commmeeedian.
Yikes.
