Shutter Lag Kills the Camera
After reading reviews, CNET I bought this camera primarily for taking point and shoot pictures of my 10 month old baby and everyday life. Anyone who has kids knows that you have a nano-second to capture the little smirk, twinkle in their eye, and those priceless two-tooth grins. Sadly, this camera does not deliver. I'm returning it within 24 hours of buying it. (even though the lens and zoom are amazing!)
Here's what I would have loved to know before buying it:
1. Shutter lag is very slow. Painful!
2. Auto Focus is painfully slow. It "thinks" a long time before actually focusing.
3. On the iA setting, the camera will only take about 2/3 of the pictures you try to snap. If the camera doesn't like the image, it won't shoot.
4. You have to turn off the GPS setting every time you power up the camera; if you don't (others have said) it'll kill your battery. If you turn off GPS in one setting, it defaults to "on" when you turn it back on.
5. Menus are not intuitive; fairly complex to navigate.
6. If you primary reason for buying the camera is for point and shoot, this probably isn't the camera for you.
