Ignore all the negative reviews
At first, I was a little hesitant to get this item, given the several recent negative reviews it got, but after just a couple minutes on YouTube watching how-to's on refilling SodaStream bottles, I realized the negative reviews on this item were likely user error. If you aren't aware of the issue, newer SodaStream CO2 bottles have a check-valve to try and prevent you from refilling the bottles yourself. This valve can be easily bypassed by filling the canister slowly; there are plenty of YouTube videos showing this process. Convinced that the negative reviews were user error, (it's not like this is a complicated piece of equipment) I went ahead and purchased it. I just refilled my first 2 SodaStream CO2 canisters today, and this worked great! Sure enough, the first time I tried I opened it up a bit too quickly and the check valve activated, preventing the bottle from filling. Per the instructions on YouTube, I just bled some pressure off then opened the fill valve slower. I now have 2 full SodaStream CO2 bottles! In summary, this device works great and anyone who tells you otherwise just doesn't understand how to work it. Watch a couple YouTube videos and you won't have any issue with this. Edit: About 3/4 of the way through my initial 20lb tank I was using to refill my SodaStream canisters, one of the ball valves began leaking. On my final fill from my 20lb tank, the handle of one of the ball valves fell off. Upon inspection, I found that the threading that holds the nut to hold the handle on had been stripped. (I have never serviced it; it had either arrived stripped or had somehow stripped during use.) I planned on fixing it later and refilled my 20lb tank. Upon the initial use with just my 2nd 20lb tank, the 2nd ball valve started leaking badly. The unit now has 2 badly leaking ball valves and one handle has completely fallen off. While the actual part that mates to the SodaStream canister works great (given you look up instructions on how to do it properly with the anti-fill SodaStream canisters) the rest of this is absolute crap. If you want to get this for the SodaStream adapter, I would recommend it for that, but don't expect the ball-valves to hold up at all. Edit 2: I purchased some ball-valves rated at 2000 PSI (the pressure of a CO2 tank) and they work much better. It's actually easier to avoid tripping the anti-fill valve with them and they should hold up much better over time. While it is extremely difficult to remove the ball-valves from this unit, it can be done with a little elbow grease. These are the replacement ball-valves I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QQFNQY2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00
