Health Hazard
The top of this device is not machine washable. Cannot be submerged in water. Cannot be disassembled and parts washed individually. It literally says in the instructions that if you get bits of food on the top piece, which I guarantee you will, wipe it down with a damp cloth. This is not sanitary.
The problem with this is that microscopic bits of food will get stuck in the exposed screws on the top piece and tiny but visible bits will get stuck in part of the top piece that houses the crank mechanism. Now its impossible to completely clean it. After the first use you will forever have bits of food decomposing in the top piece of this device.
Also, its impossible to make a decent puree with this device. I bought it to make pesto and hummus. It fails to do either. As advertised, it will puree with nine cranks. This is not true. With 40-50 cranks it makes something close to a puree but fails to achieve the results of the most basic electric food processors. The blades do not come close enough to the side of the bowl and you will always have small bits of the original ingredients stuck to the side of the bowl no matter how many cranks you put into it.
If it just failed to make purees like I wanted I'd give it 3 of 5 stars and say "Not a full featured food processor, but a decent food chopper for small batches." But because all the parts are not completely washable, I have to give it one star.
Excellent idea for a cheap tiny food processor, but poor execution. Don't waste your $20. Buy a well reviewed electric food processor instead.
