I installed 10 of these for our B&B rooms. Within one week, the lock engaged on one of our doors when a guest slammed the door shut while leaving the room. Oops! This should NOT happen. An engineering flaw, because the pivot claps rotated too freely and the clasp bounce shut. I'm putting a. Salt-water solution in the pivot arm to oxidize the moving parts so they don't swing so freely. Also, it took me less than 5 minutes to open it with a few simple bends of a coat hanger and a quick tug on the clasp, which more than a bit disturbing. (See video.) Not at all secure, with only the perception of security. You can do better than this device. I know I will.
