Okay, like some people, I took the time to read all the negative reviews and most of them are true. I actually made some modifications and have some suggestions if you decide to pull the trigger and buy this thing anyway. 1) the material is cheap like stated in previous reviews. To keep it from falling apart, I recommend not screwing those arm thingies too tight so when you turn the clamp to lock the pieces in place, it actually grabs it where it's supposed to. It will stay hooked and sturdy, so don't screw it in as far as you would like. 2) if you're like me and purchase the recommended litter pan with side guards with this product, you will need to make some modifications to get it to work. If you looked at some of the pictures, you'll notice the pan sits higher than the bottom of the opening and leaves a smaller opening for your little one to use. I actually flipped the door so the bottom of the opening was on the top. The curve of the opening aligns perfectly with the pan now. See my attached photo. 3) the side guards works well on this little pan so I recommend getting it. My cat likes to pee up on the sides of the pan so if you don't have the guards, she/he will pee inside the cabinet. One thing you can do to prevent urine damage inside the cabinet is seal the seams with rubber caulking like you would use in your bathtub to seal it. One extra step I took was I sprayed the bottom and sides of the inside cabinet with clear flex seal. It's an extra step to ensure the cabinet stays smelling "clean". 4) the small opening on the bottom of the cabinet in the front will eventually allow for litter to accumulate underneath the cabinet. I recommend blocking the small crack with something to prevent that from happening. I haven't done that yet, but I plan on doing so by glueing a plastic guard or something underneath. All in all, the product isn't bad if you are willing to make some modifications. I will note that flipping the door around will take some measuring and drilling of new holes. You may want to have someone do it for you if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself. The price is cheap and the product is cheap. If you're willing to spend a few more bucks to do the modifications like I did, it will be worth the money. Good luck to everyone and I hope my reviews helps.
