Originally we loved these... quiet, large tank, easy to fill, easy to clean, don't have to use distilled water, and advertised as killing most germs. However, less than a month into using these and they started putting off awful mildew smells. We tried flipping the wick filters and always kept them wet. So we replaced the filters, assuming the water must have worn them out faster. This time we only got about a week out of one of them before we started smelling the mildew/urine smell. Amazon was great and allowed us to return the units but was pretty upset they didn't work out. After much research they seemed like the best fit, just didn't work out for our family. But maybe the water in our area was a contributing factor.
