I gotten this lock through it's Kickstarter backing. When I first saw it, I really excited by it. Now that it have arrived and I used it for almost month, I am really disappointed. Mostly by it not doing what it promised or the extremely poor customer support. The overall quality of the material feels very cheaply made. The material may be of good and hard, but the finish on it is extremely unprofessional. Like something you would order from a cheap Chinese shopping site. The apps which is needed for the lock operation is still very much unfinished, with the Android app in much worse shape than the iOS app. It claims to "open sesame with a knock". Well right now, that feature is still "beta". It either doesn't work or drains your phone's battery very quickly. "Receive notification when door opens or close" -> Doesn't do that without the Wifi access point (not included). And the wifi part hasn't shipped yet. Given the 1.5 years delay in shipping the lock with very poor communication, don't expect it ever ship. "Long battery life. Last 500 days" -> Definitely not. If you look at other backers, many already have completely dead battery in months, and locked themselves out of the house. So effectively, even with Sesame, you still have to carry your keys. Which sort of defeats the purpose of having this in the first place. In the end, I would recommend people just get the August lock or something else. Yes, they're a bit more pricey. But this is your door lock, something that guards your home. And this lock, both the product and company doesn't feel trustworthy.
