I wanted some simple navy swim trunks, and these looked good. I saw a review or two saying these were small/short in the crotch, but other reviews said the fit was great, so I took a chance. My bad. The problem seems to be the vertical length from where the two legs meet (lower crotch) to the waistline (upper crotch), just way too short. I bought XL, and I am generally an XL in all shorts, with 38-40" waist. I am guessing if you had a very short torso, then the crotch/hip part of the torso would be proportionately shorter, and then these might fit okay. But I really am guessing, I'm not a tailor. The point is they might fit great if you are really short. I'm 6' tall and the part of the shorts that covers the lower torso/crotch was just way to short/tight. Too bad because otherwise they look good.
